When the cool, crisp days start to happen & the leaves start to turn colors...I get into cozy mode & a more creative mode as well. It's like my senses wake up & start to turn. I start to get into the holiday spirit starting with one of my favorites, Halloween!

I feel a new energy, a renewal of sorts, where I want to organize, decorate, update looks around the house & in the wardrobe, & I feel inspired to create! I also start to really organize my thoughts about the upcoming holidays & all the things that come with them like: decorations, decor, parties, foods, gifting, schedules, etc. I make lists for each holiday & what I need, want, & ideas. That being said... Halloween is nearly here & I have been gathering supplies since the middle of September!

There are so many fun things to do to bring out the creativity in you & your loved ones, if you so choose. This could also be a self-care act for you too! It's all up to you to decide.

After going through the 6-7 totes of Halloween stuff, I picked out what I wanted to display this year around the house. I did pick up a few new items... it's inevitable every year. After the decorating was done, I decided to start making plans on things to do with the girls to celebrate the holiday. So, I have collected & created their own Halloween baskets, which were individually designed with their personalities & likes in mind. Those are hidden away until it gets closer. I have also purchased little metal buckets with various Halloween sayings & designs to fill for my coworkers to show appreciation for their teamwork & camaraderie & to celebrate the holiday as well.

So far, we have gone to the pumpkin patch to pick out our porch pretties & jack-o-lanterns that we will carve as it gets a little closer so they don't get chewed up but the neighborhood critters; we have done a paint day one afternoon together; we already have our costumes ready to go; we've done neighborhood autumn walks to see the decorations, lights, & changing leaves; a hiking scavenger hunt; gone to fall craft/vendor events & local festivals; made our first batch of chili; had a s'mores making night with color changing marshmallows; & we will be doing some baking the week before Halloween to share with friends & family & to also enjoy while doing a Halloween movie night.

Now onto the crafting...

As I mentioned earlier, we did painting crafts while they were off from school one day & I happened to also have the day off too! We painted rocks & canvases. I had a kit for the rocks that came with glow-in-the-dark puffy paint too! Super cool!! We turned on some instrumental inspirational music in the background, got set up, & went to painting!

I'm going to include some inspiration below for your own crafting at home. Let your inner creativity come alive!!
